Long Live the women power!
“Women are leaders everywhere you look, from a CEO to a housewife that holds together a home.”
-Denise Clark |
There has been a paradigm shift of demographics in the Indian corporate landscape in recent times wherein India has witnessed a meteoric surge in the number of women entering the ‘entrepreneurship wave’. The new age she- preneurs are walking shoulder-to-shoulder with their male counterparts and have made immense contributions thus creating history.
Today, as leaders of multi-billion companies, as authors taking a plunge into speaking their minds, as policy makers who are not afraid to bring stringent rules for changing the country, role models who are inspiring a new generation, women are truly changing the world.
While it is important to foster women entrepreneurship, strong supporting conditions are necessary for ensuring a high business ownership by females. There is a lot of significant potential to harness the untapped potential and a long road to be traveled for scaling up opportunities that foster women entrepreneurship.
According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, there are 126m women operating new businesses and another 98m at the helm of established ones. Yet we face a huge equality gap. In only seven countries--Panama, Thailand, Ghana, Ecuador, Nigeria, Mexico and Uganda--do women take part in business at rates equal to men’s; in some countries, like Pakistan, they barely take part at all. Even when women are active business owners, they do not reach their maximum potential.
The world needs women entrepreneurs, and women entrepreneurs need to be supported, recognized and rewarded for their efforts. We at SMB connect are awarding all these trailblazers, disruptors, motivators, and change makers in our upcoming Advaita Awards 2018.
Advaita Awards 2018 is a salute to emerging women entrepreneurs who have made a mark in their field and inspire the next generation. Advaita recognizes the self-belief of women and salutes their spirit of being resilient, persistent, passionate and strong. The Awards evening will celebrate the Indian women who are creating and executing scalable solutions with grounded reality and proving themselves in business.
If you believe you are a wonder woman, leader, changemaker, torchbearer making a difference, either in business or social causes or know someone, Advaita is waiting for you!
For most small businesses, it’s that time of the year again. The fiscal year end is here and it is a time to dread. There are many things you need to take care of like sending customer statements, reconciling bank accounts, preparing financial documents, filing taxes etc. It is always great to keep this checklist handy during the financial year end activities. If you have completed all these, you deserve a pat on your back- You are all set for the next year!! |
Best Wishes,
