Tarit Kumar Bhaumik began his professional journey as Industrial Engineer with erstwhile British
multinational engineering Industry in India,GKW Ltd after graduation in Mechanical engineering from BE College, Sibpore. After serving the line function as Maintenance Manager for few years with successful implementation of preventive maintenance in its highly automated fasteners division
he was entrusted with the responsibilities as general Manager-personnel -Eastern region with overall Personnel responsibilities of more than 10000 employees. Mr Bhaumik, thereafter joined Indian Oxygen Ltd,later known as BOC India Ltd,(presently Linde India) another British multi-national in Industrial & medical gases sector as corporate Head -Personnel He was elevated to Vice President-Personnel, He also took over the responsibilities of SHEQ(safety, Health, Environment & quality) for the Company & became member of South East Asian SHEQ committee of BOC group.. He spearheaded the Business Process Re-engineering initiative in the Company which successfully brought a remarkable turnaround for the Company. Mr Bhaumik published this success story as a case study in the book titled “re-structuring at enterprise level “ published by ILO Geneva. After retirement from BOC India he served FI-TEK LLC , an American IT in Finance sector company with its Indian outfit at Sector V Kolkataas Global Head-HR & thereafter , presently serving a medium sector IT & ITES company as Head-HR
Apart from his company-centric activities related to the positions held Mr Bhaumik had been an executive committee member of various governing bodies including Employer Federation of India, AIOE, national committee of IR for CII, Chairman of HR & Productivity subcommittee of Bengal Chambers of Commerce & Industries.
Mr Bhaumik had been Employers’ representative in the board of ESI Corporation,New Delhi, Apprenticeship Advisory Committee, Indian Labour Conference & Standing Labour Committee ,the apex tripartite bodies on Labour. He was a member of bi-partite committee formed by Govt of India in 1996 to restructure labour laws in the country.
He was actively involved in quality circle movement of CII & presided over as the chairman of the jury of national award competition held in Kolkata. He had been a guest speaker for Advanced Management Development programme organized by IIM Kolkata.
He was associated with ILO as resource person attending seminers in Pakistan ,India & Bangladesh.
Mr Bhaumik presently resides at Kolkata,India.
