Many in Body, One in Mind
Hitedra Soneji
Senior Motivational & Corporate Trainer

If the spirit of many in body but one in mind prevails among the people, they will achieve all their goals, whereas if one in body but different in mind, they can achieve nothing remarkable.

Even an individual at cross purposes with himself is certain to end in failure.

Yet a hundred or even a thousand people can definitely attain their goal, if they are of one mind.
Many In Body, One In Mind Unity has long been recognized as a vital human value, necessary to any successful endeavour involving more than one person.
“Many in body,” also translated as “different in body,” refers to the diversity among individuals—their unique personalities, qualities, abilities and roles.
The unity of many in body, one in mind can be formed only among those who respect one another and cherish one another’s unique attributes and abilities, while working in harmony to compensate for one another’s weaknesses. To create this kind of unity, each person must set aside attachment to self and accomplish a profound inner transformation, what we call human revolution.
“One in mind”—also “same mind” or “same heart”—means sharing a noble purpose, a common wish to realize a big goal. read more...

Sandipan Ray, Editor, SMB Connect   Are you up for SMAC - the next growth driver for SMEs in India?

India’s SME sector has been one of the primary drivers of its economy. The sector’s contribution to the country’s GDP is expected to increase to 22% in 2020 from 17% in 2011.

Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) account for 45% of India’s total manufacturing output and employ around 40% of its workforce
The online space has opened up a whole new avenue of doing business which was just not available earlier. The future of SMEs, especially online, lies in the sharing of information and collaborative education. Experts predict that the confluence of SMAC -- social media, mobility, analytics, and cloud computing -- will be a potent and leading business-technology enabler of the next decade.
Indian SMEs are all set to increase cloud adoption at a CAGR of 20% between 2012 and 2016.
These are many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which have been born and come into their own in the last five years. Many have been started by young entrepreneurs, a large number of whom are women.  One of the reasons these small businesses are seeing so much success is because they are capitalizing on Digital India and leveraging the internet to market themselves and build an identity—and lead the digital transformation for India. What is required to ensure stronger economic and social growth is to empower start-ups and SME growth in the digital and mobile economy.

The move forward will be through building supportive communities, using effective mobile solutions to connect with customers, leveraging training programs and sharing the experiences of other businesses—all of which can help accelerate entrepreneurship, diversity and help businesses grow.
Here are my 3 marketing  takeaways that could be of immense help to small and medium businesses in this digital era:

Elevate Your Brand
A great way to differentiate yourself is to find ways to continue great relationships and support with online customers. Let them know you care and that they are appreciated
-Think beyond the purchase - Start building your brand before the customers buy
-Integrate your customers into your social media activities
-Foster an SEO(Search Engine Optimization) Culture.

Become the expert of your product
Don’t miss the opportunity to remind people how available you really are.50 percent of people who search online share recommendations with friends and family and often write positively about their purchase online. SMBs need to:
-Make it easy for 'Spiders' to access and crawl
-Include keyword rich content
-Use Your E commerce Platform for More than Just Sales

Your online presence is all that it can be.
Looking established will set you apart right from the start. Again, there are cost-effective ways to look like you really know what you are doing
-Listen and engage with customers to better understand their wants/ needs
-Develop and optimize robust promotions, online demand generation, merchandising and search programs to drive traffic and conversions.

If you don't know the customers, you don't know your business. That's why I encourage my team to interact with customers at every opportunity. To do that, we need to deeply understand each customer's needs and priorities and this holds even more relevance for small businesses  in this digital era.

Best Wishes,

Sandipan Ray
