Digital Infestation - The Unstoppable

Ever wondered why digital and technology is infesting almost everything these days. There is hardly anything that we do or any business that exist has not been touched by digital and technology.

Be it, sharing our vacation photos, sharing a document on WhatsApp, selling fruits & vegetables to groceries, and electronics, daily staple supplies, online education, doctor consultation to finding an electrician, getting a cab, booking movie tickets and even booking panditji for havans and pooja’s.

"This is what can be called as

digital infestation".

Some of you may ask what do I mean by ‘Digital Infestation’? All of us know the literal and dictionary meaning of infestation, Infestation is the state of being invaded or overrun by pests or parasites. Digital Infestation is about being invaded by the technology in everything. As we got introduced to the technology and digital world, we started to like it and started using it as many possible ways as can be.

It is hard to imagine our lives these days without technology, the interesting thing about this is the more we use it more we get attracted to it and which leads to more use of it. For example, somebody started selling fruits and vegetables online and got noticed by small and big players both, they all got attracted to it for different reasons. Smaller players replicated the model because they didn’t have enough resources, finances and logistics but by going online they now had a reach to much wider customers geographically as well as numerically. Bigger and already established players started doing it because they have all the money, resources, logistics and they could do it and so they did it.

This is like getting infested by a parasite which is hard to stop and in this case it is helping the economy and businesses grow leaps and bounds. So there is no need to stop it, right? But, I’ll differ, some of you may say, why would you want to stop something which is helping everyone and it is like a win-win situation.

The world will soon get infested full with technology and there would hardly be anything that would be left out.

So the big question is should we let the infestation continue at its pace or should we try to control it and bring a tiered or iterated growth.
